OCSA DANCE, MUSIC, AND SCIENCE CENTER

LOCATION: SANTA ANA, CA
OWNER: ORANGE COUNTY SCHOOL OF THE ARTS
ARCHITECT: JOHN SERGIO FISHER & ASSOCIATES

The nationally recognized Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) chose Howard CDM to build their first ground-up facility. The two-story, 62,100 SF Dance, Music and Science Center was a 14-month project comprised of:

  • Fourteen dance studios
  • Eight state-of-the-art science labs
  • Three instrumental music and choir rehearsal rooms
  • Sixteen practice rooms
  • Offices, dressing rooms and storage

The building’s design blends the industrial looks of an exposed CMU exterior, exposed decking and polished concrete floors with softer, more artistic features including a sleek glass lantern entryway lit with decorative pendent light fixtures and warm, rich hardwood dance studio floors.
